NICE Robus Hi-Speed RBS600HS at a glance

NICE Robus RBS is a family of non-reversible electromechanical gearmotor operators for sliding gates. The high-speed operator model Robus RBS Hi-Speed is supplied with a built-in (but removable) NICE MCU4 control unit with an integrated radio receiver and an SM connector for plug-in radio receivers of the OXI type, such as NICE OXIBD. It features an ON-OFF function for disabling the internal receiver (in Level I programming). The internal receiver does not support FloR or Flo encoding.

Wiring for external devices ( photocells, warning light and similar devices) has been simplified across the NICE Robus RBS range by the BlueBUStechnology, which allows multiple devices to be connected to a shared terminal using a single two-core cable (with no need to observe polarity). It is also possible to connect conventional relay photocells.

The built-in Wi-Fi receiver allows you to control the automation system using the My Nice Pro mobile app. Together with the programming device Nice Proview , it lets you configure and program the operator’s functions remotely, directly from your smartphone. The app is available for  Android and iOS.

Compared with MCU1 the control unit MCU4 is more modern and faster and offers more options and accessories for automation. The MCU4 also features an OSE input (Optoelectronic Safety Edge, max. 15 mA) and NICE MLAE22 port expansion board. The board offers 2 additional outputs (one of which is 230 V) and 2 inputs for connecting accessories to the control unit.

User-friendly BlueBUS technology BlueBUS makes it easy to power and control up to 7 pairs of photocells using a two-core cable.

Photocells can be integrated directly beneath the cover of the Robus RBS Hi-speed (RBS600HS) drive, giving the gate a neat, attractive appearance. gate. The RBSKITSAFE1 installation kit is not included as standard and must be purchased separately. In addition, the RBS600HS can be upgraded with a so-called white status light, purchased separately as the ELMM.

Automatic operation of the drive depends on the power supply. In the event of a power failure, the motor can be released using the release key.. A NICE PSS124 backup batterycan be purchased separately to keep the drive operating during a power failure. The older backup power supply NICE PS124 model is compatible only when used with the CABLA11.

The “Slave Unit” function (master-slave mode) enables synchronised control of two motors, allowing a pair of sliding gates that open towards each other to be automated. It is also compatible with the older Robus RB600, model, but only from the version with the RBA3R10 control unit. The older RBA3/c is not compatible with the RBS..

The integrated “Eye Check” system provides visual feedback via an LED indicator (red/green). Green indicates movement, while red indicates active photocells, abnormal conditions and errors.

It features a gear wheel module 4, compatible with the gear rack in our range. The limit switch is inductive..

The high-speed Nice Robus Hi-speed RBS600HS drive features obstacle detection and a temperature sensor that adjusts the drive’s pulling force to the weather conditions and is protected by a thermal fuse..

Its high-quality construction and IP44. Robus Hi-Speed RBS600HS is compatible with Nice accessories.

Choosing a drive – is the NICE Robus Hi-Speed RBS600HS suitable for my gate?

Every gate has a size (i.e. a lever arm) and a weight (i.e. the force exerted by the lever arm), and every drive has its limits.. The NICE Robus Hi-Speed RBS600HS drive is suitable for the following gate leaf lengths and weights:

Cycles per hour / consecutive cycles

Gate leaf weight
up to 400 kg up to 600 kg
Gate leaf length up to 4 m 35 40
up to 8 m 20 20

In general, the length of the gate leaf determines the maximum number of cycles per hour and consecutive cycles, indicating how long the drive can operate. A heavier gate reduces these figures proportionally because it places greater strain on the drive, and also determines the maximum permitted speed for the given load. The drive has a thermal fuse that monitors the temperature of the motor and its surroundings and reduces the number of possible cycles accordingly.

The stated values apply when the manufacturer’s conditions are met (weather conditions, temperatures, gate stiffness and smooth gate movement). In practice, we recommend keeping the total load to approximately 80% of these limits.

Limits of the NICE Robus Hi-Speed RBS600HS drive

The stated values are recommended by NICE. Based on our experience, we recommend allowing a margin of around 20% below the stated values:

Robus RBS400HS Maximum Minimum
Gate leaf length 8 m 6 m
Gate leaf weight 600 kg 480 kg

Running the drive at its maximum capacity shortens its service life. Below is an estimated service-life calculation based on stress factors.

Service life of the NICE Robus Hi-Speed RBS600HS drive

Add the stress index values for gate leaf weight and length in the table, then add the indices for other factors (if applicable). Then use the graph to estimate the drive’s service life in cycles.

Example: A gate with a 4.5 m clear opening and a weight of up to 200 kg: length index ~30 + weight index 10 + low-temperature index 10 ⇒ total 40. The graph indicates ~120,000 cycles, which at 10 operations per day is ≈ 32 years.

Installing the NICE Robus Hi-Speed RBS600HS operator

Installation method of the operator is different for a and cantilever sliding gate different. For a track-guided gate, the operator is generally installed at ground level; for a cantilever gate, the operator needs to be raised (using Ø8 threaded rods, a custom bracket, a concrete plinth, etc.). The key factor is the height of the rack, so that it meshes correctly with the operator's pinion (see “The rack and its limit stop”).

Wiring

A typical (optional) setup for wiring the operator and accessories is as follows:

Installation

Correct operator mounting height is one of the conditions for proper operation. Read more in the article “What height should the operator be installed at?”.

The rack and its limit stop

Operating principle: the pinion's rotary torque is converted into linear motion through the rack-and-pinion drive on the rack. Most common types:

Nylon rack Nylon rack (optionally reinforced with steel) – fixed with self-tapping screws through the mounting holes; ideal for lighter/shorter gates and quieter operation (nylon against a steel pinion).
Steel rack Steel rack – fixed by welding on threaded brackets and then screwing the rack into place; suitable for longer/heavier gates, with slightly noisier operation (steel against steel).

It is essential, that the operator's pinion module is compatible with the module of the rack. The NICE Robus Hi-Speed RBS600HS has a tooth module of 4.

The operator detects the end positions when opening and closing using limit stops mounted on the rack.

Steps for installing the limit stops on the rack:

1. Align the operator and gate. The gate and operator must be level.

Aligning the gate and operator – step 1Aligning the gate and operator – step 2

2. Leave a 1–2 mm gap between the rack and pinion so the gate's weight is not transferred to the motor.

3. Tighten the operator's fixings so it cannot shift when engaged.

4. Move the gate to the open position and adjust the limit stops so they activate the switch at the end position.

5. Move the gate to the closed position and adjust the limit stops so they activate the switch at the end position.

Wiring the NICE Robus Hi-Speed RBS600HS operator

Before connecting, disconnecting, or changing the operator wiring (to the mains or accessories), remember to disconnect the power supply – switch off the circuit breakers, remove the power fuse, or disconnect the backup battery.

Drive photocells

User-friendly BlueBUS technology allows you to power and control up to 7 pairs of photocells using a two-wire cable.

Connecting multiple pairs of NICE EPMB photocells to the NICE BlueBUS data network

Position the photocells around the gate according to the example layouts for a complete installation and set the jumpers according to the jumper table for the NICE EPMB photocells. To prevent interference between pairs positioned close together, follow the orientation of the transmitters TX and receivers RX shown in the example layouts. Connect the photocells in parallel as shown (polarity does not need to be observed):

Parallel connection of NICE EPMB photocells on the Nice Robus RBS gate drive

If you want the photocells to function as gate openers (see FA1 and FA2 in the example layouts), i.e. to trigger the gate to open when a vehicle drives between their optical axes, break connection A on both the transmitter TX and receiver RX – see illustration:

Connection A on NICE EPMB photocells

NICE EPMB photocell jumper table

Nice EPMB photocell Connecting multiple pairs of photocells to the BlueBUS system is done by setting different jumper combinations. Each connected pair must have a unique combination; no two pairs in a single BlueBUS data network may have the same setting. Set the jumper identically on the TX transmitter and RX receiver within each pair. Keep unused jumpers for future use.

Radio receiver for drive units

NICE Robus Hi-Speed RBS600HS drive unit has a built-in radio receiver in the control unit NICE MCU4. MCU4 also has an SM connector (under the plastic cover) for connecting an external radio receiver NICE OXIBD (or the older NICE OXI). The SM connector makes it easy to upgrade from an older Robus RB drive unit to a Robus RBS, while retaining the paired remote controls.

Selecting the gate travel direction

The direction setting must correspond to the position of the drive unit relative to the gate leaf. View the gate from the side where the drive unit is located.

Selecting the sliding gate travel direction – Nice Robus RBS400

If the gate opens to the left, set the switch to the left. If the gate opens to the right, set the switch to the right.
The switch is on the right-hand side of the rear of the MCU4 control unit.

Detecting connected drive unit devices

Each time you connect, disconnect, or change the wiring of devices on the BlueBUS and STOP inputs, perform the accessory detection procedure. The drive unit indicates this by flashing LEDs L1 and L2.

Detecting connected devices – NICE Robus RBS400
  1. Press and hold the “Open” and “Stop/Set” buttons.
  2. When L1 and L2flash rapidly, release the buttons.
  3. Wait until the control unit has completed detection.
  4. If the procedure completed successfully, the STOP LED remains lit and L1, L2 switch off. If L3 and L4flash, the gate leaf length detection procedure has not yet been performed.

Gate leaf length detection

To correctly calculate the acceleration/deceleration travel and partial opening, the operator must determine the length of the gate leaf. During the operation, it moves the gate from one stop to the other and determines the length using a switch.

Determining the gate leaf length – Nice Robus RBS400
  1. Press “Close” and “Stop/Set” and hold them.
  2. Release the buttons once the manoeuvre starts.
  3. If opening does not start, press “Stop/Set”, check the direction of movement (see “Selecting the gate movement direction”) and start again.
  4. If the direction is correct, wait for the opening and subsequent closing to finish.

Programming the operator

The Robus Hi-Speed RBS600HS operator allows you to program several functions, either by enabling/disabling a function in Level I programming or by setting a preset parameter in Level II programming.

MCU4 control unit has three buttons for operating and programming the operator:

Nice MCU1 control unit for the NICE Robus RBS400 operator

Open

The button sends an open command to the operator. It is also used during programming to move the programmed parameter value up.

Stop/Set

The button sends a stop command to the operator. Pressing and holding it for 5 seconds the first time opens Level I programming. Pressing and holding it again opens Level II programming for the current LED.

Close

The button sends a close command to the operator. It is also used during programming to move the programmed parameter value down.

Programming – Level I

In Level I, programming enables/disables the selected function. When a function is enabled, the corresponding LED on the control unit is lit. All functions are disabled by default.

Entering Level I programming Hold down the “Stop/Set” button for about 5 seconds, until the LED L1. Use the “Open” and “Close” buttons to move the active LED up or down. You have 10 seconds for each operation; otherwise, the operator exits the mode. When the flashing LED is next to the function you want to change, press “Stop/Set” to make it flash faster (function enabled) or slower (function disabled), then allow the operator to exit the mode within 20 seconds. If everything went correctly, the corresponding LED will remain lit.

List of functions that can be enabled:

LED Function Description
L1 Automatic closing After the set time (“Level II programming – Pause duration”), the gate closes automatically after opening. If this function is disabled, the gate responds only to a command (e.g. from a remote control or similar).
L2 Close after photocell interruption Once the photocells are clear (the vehicle has passed), closing starts after 5 seconds. Operation depends on L1:
  • Automatic closing enabled: the gate stops when the photocells are clear, then starts closing after 5 seconds (it may not open all the way).
  • Automatic closing disabled: the gate always opens fully and starts closing after 5 seconds.
L3 Always close After a power failure, the gate either remains in its current position (disabled) or closes automatically (enabled).
L4 Standby mode Reduces power consumption to a minimum (useful with PSS124). One minute after the last movement, BlueBUS (and connected devices) and all LEDs except the BlueBUS LED switch off (the latter flashes slowly). When a command is received, the control unit first wakes up/restarts and only then carries out the command.
L5 Starting torque Disables the soft start—the motor immediately runs at full power (useful with high friction, snow or ice). Reduces the operator's service life.
L6 Pre-flashing Before the gate starts moving, the warning light flashes for 3 seconds, then the manoeuvre starts.
L7 Disable the internal radio control Disables the radio receiver integrated into the control unit. Enable this if you use an external plug-in receiver such as an OXI. When this function is disabled, the internal receiver is active.
L8 “Slave” mode – subordinate unit When activated, the operator becomes the “Slave”. Allows two motors on opposing gate leaves to be synchronised (Master/Slave). For details, see the Robus RBS manual, section “Slave mode”.

Programming – Level II

In Level II, function values are set (unlike in Level I).

Entering Level II programming Hold down the “Stop/Set” button for about 5 seconds, until the L1 LED starts flashing. Use the “Open” and “Close” buttons to move the active LED up or down. You have 10 seconds for each operation; otherwise, the operator exits the mode. When the LED is next to the function whose parameter you want to adjust, press and hold “Stop/Set” to enter the settings. The lit LED (while you continue holding “Stop/Set”) indicates the current value. Change the value using “Open” (up) or “Close” (down), then release “Stop/Set” and wait for the operator to exit the mode within 20 seconds. To verify the setting, repeat the procedure without changing the value.

Procedure after resetting the NICE ROBUS RBS600HS drive with integrated Wi-Fi

Important setup order after reset
1. Connect MyNice Pro and update the firmware
With the power off, connect the BiDi-WiFi programmer to the BUS T4 connector, then switch on the power. In the MyNice Pro programming app, first add and pair BiDi-WiFi as a programming interface; if it is already saved in the app, connect to it. Once the connection is confirmed, search for the control unit. Check for an available firmware update, download the latest compatible version, and install it. Do not switch off the power or disconnect the programmer during the update; wait for confirmation that it is complete. This step must be carried out by an installer with a Company account. A Guest account does not support firmware updates for the control unit.
2. Prepare the gate
Clear the gate’s path of movement. Use the key to release the drive, move the gate to approximately the halfway point of its travel, then lock the drive again.
3. Accessory learning
Press OPEN ▲ and STOP/SET simultaneously for approximately 3 seconds. When LEDs L1 and L2 start flashing rapidly, release the buttons. Wait for learning to finish: L1 and L2 will go out and the STOP LED will remain on.
4. Gate travel learning
Press STOP/SET and CLOSE ▼ simultaneously for approximately 3 seconds. Release the buttons when the gate starts moving. The gate will first close, then open fully, and close again. Wait for the process to finish; LEDs L3 and L4 will go out. If it starts opening first, immediately press STOP/SET and have the direction setting checked.
5. Disable Standby mode
In the unit settings in MyNice Pro, set Standby mode to OFF. With the gate stationary and not in programming mode, the corresponding L4 LED on the unit should be off. Disabling Standby mode will increase the drive’s idle power consumption.
6. Check and, if necessary, pair the integrated Wi-Fi using MyNice
Once setup is complete, switch off the power, disconnect the external BiDi-WiFi programmer, and switch the power back on. In the MyNice customer app, check whether the drive is still accessible. If the drive has not yet been added in the app, or its built-in Wi-Fi has been reset separately, start the device setup process and follow the wizard to pair the drive’s integrated Wi-Fi. Have the name and password for your 2.4 GHz home Wi-Fi network ready.
For the first pairing: connect your phone to the 2.4 GHz home Wi-Fi network you are connecting the drive to; do not leave it connected only via 5G mobile data. The operator does not support 5 GHz Wi-Fi. 5G mobile networks and 5 GHz Wi-Fi are different things. Once paired, you can also use MyNice remotely over mobile data.
7. Final check
Try operating it via MyNice and with the remote control. The installer must check the limit positions, photocells and safe operator settings, as the reset has removed the original custom settings.

Automating two opposing sliding gates with two NICE Robus Hi-Speed RBS600HS operators (Master-Slave mode)

If you need to automate two sliding gates facing each other, Robus operators support slave mode (“Master-Slave”). One operator is the master (Master) and sends commands to the other, the slave (Slave). All Robus operators are set to master at the factory, so enable function L8 (Slave unit). The connection between Master ↔ Slave is made via BlueBUS.

Restrictions when connecting a master and slave unit

  • The gate cannot be opened using the slave unit.
  • All devices (e.g. photocells,, an external receiver, etc.) must be connected to the master unit. Only a warning light, devices connected to the STOP, SBS (STEP-BY-STEP) input and the indicator output OGIcan be connected to the slave unit; the OPEN/CLOSE inputs are ignored.
  • If you use a backup battery (NICE PSS124), each operator must have its own.
  • On the slave unit, all programmed functions are ignored except those listed below.
Level I programming Level II programming
L4 — Standby mode L3 — Motor speed
L5 — Start-up L4 — Indicator output
L8 — Slave unit L5 — Motor force
L8 — Error log

Installing two Robus operators in slave mode

  1. Install both gate leaves and both motors. Choose which operator will be the master (N) and which will be the slave (P). In Master-Slave mode, only the slave gate leaf can be opened fully.
  2. (P) Select the opening direction (using the direction switch on the control unit). Selecting the direction of movement on the MCU1
  3. (P) On the slave run the device and gate-leaf length learning procedures (“Device learning”, “Gate-leaf length learning”). If the direction is reversed, repeat step 1.
  4. (P) On the slave enable the “Master-Slave mode” function (Level I, L8).
  5. (P+N) Connect the two automation systems according to the wiring diagram.  BlueBUS polarity — connecting two operators
  6. (N) Select the opening direction on the master.
  7. (N) On the master, run the device and gate-leaf length learning procedures. The slave operator will also move while the gate-leaf length is being learned. If the direction is reversed, repeat step 6.

Connecting additional external devices

To the control unit

The MCU4 control unit provides 24 V DC (+) and GND (−) terminals for powering external devices, as well as OGI,, BlueBUS and Flash. In Master-Slave mode, connect devices to the master operator (for exceptions on the “Slave” see the manual – “Master-Slave mode”).

Expanding the control unit with additional inputs/outputs

In addition to the terminals provided, the control unit also has a built-in expansion board MLAE22, which allows several devices to be connected.

The MLAE22 board provides 2 outputs (one of which is 230 V) and 2 inputs for connecting accessories to the control unit.

Default values (can be changed in the control unit settings):

Contact Gate Door
A OPEN OPEN
B CLOSE CLOSE
C Gate status indicator
One-way traffic light
D Auxiliary light Auxiliary light
E 230V 230V
F Neutral Neutral

Replacing the expansion board

The expansion board However, the MLAE22 can be removed and replaced with another one, according to your preference.

The number and type of inputs and outputs on the expansion boards depend on the type of control unit. There are currently 3 types available for the MCU4 of expansion boards:

MLAE21 - 2x 24V inputs (factory settings: Open, Close), 1x 24V output (factory setting: OGI)
MLAE22 - 2x 24V inputs (factory settings: Open, Close), 1x 24V output (factory setting: OGI), 1x 230V output (factory setting: Lighting) - built-in
MLAE44 - 4x 24V inputs (factory settings: Open, Close, Partial Opening, Photo), 4x 24V outputs (factory settings: OGI, Gate Closed, Radio Output 4, Phototest)

Procedure for connecting the expansion board:

Adding or removing expansion boards must always be done with the power disconnected (by removing fuse F2 and, if connected, the backup battery).

Connecting the expansion board to the MCU1 control unit.
  1. Disconnect the control unit from the power supply.
  2. Carefully pry off the slot cover (A).
  3. Insert the expansion board (B) into the corresponding slot on the control unit's circuit board.
  4. Reconnect the control unit to the power supply.
  5. Carry out the “Learning additional devices” (see below).

Procedure for learning additional devices.

The device learning procedure is required after connecting the expansion board to the MCU1 control unit.
  1. Press and hold the “Open” and “Stop”.
  2. When the LEDs “L1” and “L2” start flashing rapidly (after approximately 3 seconds), release the buttons.
  3. Wait a few seconds for the control unit to complete the “Learning additional devices”.
  4. At the end of this phase, the LED “Stop” must be lit. The LEDs “L1” and “L2” must go out, while the LEDs “L1” through “L8” light up according to the status of the programmed functions (enabled/disabled) that they represent.

After adding or removing devices, the automation must be tested again as described in the section  “Testing” (see the drive manual).

Special drive functions

Gate held open continuously

If a command to the STEP-BY-STEP input (P.P., SbS, Step-by-step) lasts longer than 2 seconds, the control unit will keep the gate open for as long as the command is active. Suitable for use with a timer.

Forced operation

If a safety device fails or an obstacle blocks, for example, the photocells and the gate does not move for safety reasons, activate the “Hold-to-run” mode — continuously (Level II, L2 = L7) or temporarily:

  1. Send a command (e.g. remote control or key switch).
  2. If there is a problem, the gate will not move and the warning light will probably indicate an error.
  3. Within 3 seconds of the previous command, send it again and hold it.
  4. The gate moves while the command is held; when it is released, the gate stops.

Maintenance alert

In Level II programming, item L7 – Maintenance alert sets the number of cycles after which the drive should signal that maintenance (inspection) is required. The drive signals this with the warning light (or, if Level II programming item L4 – Output indicator is set to L7 – Maintenance) as follows:

Number of cycles Warning light signal OGI output indicator signal
less than 80% of the limit Normal operation, flashing at half-second intervals. “Lit” for 2 seconds after opening begins.
80–100% of the limit Lit for 2 s after the manoeuvre starts, then operates normally. Flashes during the manoeuvre.
over 100% of the limit Lit for 2 s after the manoeuvre starts, then operates normally; after the manoeuvre ends, it lights up again for 2 s. Flashes continuously.

These settings can also be made using the mobile app My Nice Pro.

Troubleshooting the drive

If anything is unclear or you have another problem, please feel free to contact our technical support team for NICE drives.

Depending on the nature of the problem

During installation (or if the drive fails), you may encounter one of the following problems:

Problem Possible solution
The gate does not respond to a remote-control command, and the LED on the remote control does not light up. Check whether the batteries in the drive remote control are working; if not, replace them (instructions are in the manual for the specific remote control).
The gate does not respond to a remote-control command, but the LED on the remote control lights up. Check whether it was remote control stored in the memory of the receiver correctly; otherwise, store it again.
The gate does not move and the BlueBUS LED does not flash. Check that the drive is supplied with 230 V. If so, test both fuses and, if necessary, replace them with new ones of the same rating.
The gate does not move and the warning light does not flash. Check whether the drive has registered the command at all:
– for a command from the remote control the BlueBUS LED should flash rapidly twice;
– for a command via the STEP-BY-STEP (SbS) input, the corresponding STEP-BY-STEP LED should light up.
The gate does not move and the warning light flashes several times. Count the number of flashes and see the section “Troubleshooting by warning-light flashes” below.
The gate starts moving, but then stops and reverses. The motor force is probably set too low. Check that nothing is obstructing the gate and, if necessary, increase the force or enable the “Start-up“.
The gate starts moving, but the warning light does not work. Check whether voltage (approx. 10–30 V DC) is present at the FLASH terminal during operation. If voltage is present, the problem is with the warning light – try replacing it. If there is no voltage, the FLASH output may have been overloaded – check the wiring for a short circuit.
The gate starts moving, but the OGI output does not work. Find out which function is assigned to the OGI output; if it is supposed to flash, check that 24 V DC is present. If voltage is present, the bulb is faulty – replace it. If there is no voltage, the OGI output may have been overloaded – check the wiring for a short circuit.

Troubleshooting by warning-light flashes

While the gate is moving, the warning light flashes regularly once every second. If a problem occurs, it signals the error in two faster, consecutive series of flashes.

Flash sequence Error Solution
1 flash, 1 s pause, 1 flash BlueBUS error The devices connected to the BlueBUS input do not match those detected during the setup phase. Run the setup phase again; if that does not help, use a process of elimination to identify the faulty device, then replace, repair or return it under warranty.
2 flashes, 1 s pause, 2 flashes Photocell activation The photocells are being triggered (common when the beam is interrupted during closing). If the beam was not interrupted, they may be dirty, dazzled by bright light or faulty.
3 flashes, 1 s pause, 3 flashes Motor force limiter activated The gate is detecting increased friction – check and adjust the gate (test it by moving it manually). Increasing the force or enabling “Start-up“. can help. The problem may also be caused by an excessively high bottom stop.
4 flashes, 1 s pause, 4 flashes STOP input activated A command was received at the STOP input. If this was unexpected, check the connected devices.
5 flashes, 1 s pause, 5 flashes Control unit internal error Wait at least 30 seconds and repeat the command. If the error persists, try a reset. The control unit will probably need to be repaired or replaced.
6 flashes, 1 s pause, 6 flashes Hourly operation limit reached Wait a few minutes for the cycle limiter to drop below the maximum.
7 flashes, 1 s pause, 7 flashes Internal electronic circuit error Disconnect the drive from the power supply for a few seconds, reconnect it and try the command. If the error persists, try a reset. If that does not help, the control unit will probably need repair or replacement.
8 flashes, 1 s pause, 8 flashes Continuous command active If a command is being sent to the drive continuously, check the devices connected to the OPEN input. If a timer is connected, it is probably sending this continuous command.

Troubleshooting using LED flashes

Troubleshooting can be carried out by monitoring several sets of LEDs. Two sets are on the control unit, and the third is the status light directly on the drive.

On the drive...

The status light is located on the front of the cover of the Nice RBS drives.

Nice Robus RBS drive diagnostics using LEDs

The red and green LEDs indicate normal operation and provide basic gate diagnostics, as shown in the table below. If the drive detects an anomaly or error, it signals it using the warning light.

Status light with positions learned
Green light
on Indicates the start of each gate operation, if there are no anomalies or errors in the system, and goes out when the operation is complete.
off Normal operation
Red light
