Description of NICE PS124 - backup battery for the drive with integrated charging
Available replacement!
The NICE PS124 backup battery has been replaced by a newer model NICE PSS124 – backup battery for drives with integrated charging.
Backup battery NICE PS124 is designed for automated sliding gates, swing gates and garage doors powered by NICE motors (ROBUS, POPKIT, SN6031-41, MC424, SBAR). The battery supplies the motor with the electrical power needed to operate if the mains supply to the motor fails. The battery is continuously recharged from the mains. When fully charged, the battery can power approximately 10 gate cycles. of the gate.
Warning!
For sliding gate operators Nice Robus RBS and swing gate operators Nice Toona, S-Fab, M-Fab, L-Fab and B-Fab with control unit version R30 (MC824HR30) a cable adapter is required to connect the backup power supply PS124 or PS324 a cable adapter is required to connect the backup power supply CABLA11.
Installing the backup battery NICE PS124
1. Disconnect the operator's power supply from the mains.
2. Connect the battery to the control unit.
The connectors for connecting to the control unit are not polarised, so it does not matter which way you connect them.
The battery comes with a power cable with two connectors, one narrower and the other wider. Use the wider connector to connect to the control unit and the narrower connector to connect to the battery.
Connecting to a NICE Robus operator:
| 1. Remove the plastic cover from the battery connector on the control unit. | 2. Connect the battery to the connector and place it next to the control unit. |

3. Check the connection of the NICE PS124 backup battery as follows:
Step 3.2 Connect the operator to the mains and check whether the LED L1 on the battery is lit.. If so, the battery is charging correctly. Fully open and close the gate (with the operator connected to the mains).
Step 3.3 Disconnect the operator from the mains and check whether the LED L2 on the battery is lit (as in Step 3.1). Then fully open and close the gate (with the operator disconnected from the mains and powered only by the battery) to verify that the operator works correctly on battery power alone.
Note: The speed of the operator when powered only by the backup battery may be lower, even if the control unit is programmed for a higher speed.
4. Reconnect the operator to the mains.
Done, everything should now be working correctly. In the event of a power failure, you should still be able to open and close the gate successfully..
