| Receivers |
Internal and external radio receivers for receiving signals from remote controls. NICE, Came, Key, Marantec.

| Photocells |
Safety photocells are installed on either side of the gate opening. They create an infrared beam that, when interrupted by a car or pedestrian, for example, sends a signal to the operator to stop the gate or prevent it from opening.

| Warning lights |
NICE warning lights flash at regular intervals to alert people nearby that the gate is moving. They usually include an antenna to extend the remote control's range. Also, with BlueBUS operators, specific flashing patterns indicate operator wiring faults.

| Key switches |
Control the gate by turning a key; the switch is hardwired. Two commands are available by turning the key in either direction.

| Card readers |
A card reader allows only authorized people to enter a property or operate a gate operator or other automated system. Each authorized person is assigned a card (or key fob) that sends a command to the operator when presented to the reader.
