Description of NICE Wallyght WLT - multifunctional warning LED light
NICE Wallyght WLT is a multifunctional LED indicator that, when connected to compatible control units for operators, can function as a conventional flashing warning beacon, or it can be used as ambient lighting.
When connected to a power supply, it can be kept continuously lit using, for example, a switch, or it can be switched on automatically at dusk using a light sensor (This only works with the light oriented at 180°).
The power supply is universal: 12/24V AC/DC.
It can be mounted vertically or horizontally (including on the ceiling), and you can adjust the direction of the light.
The WLT beacon has an IP44 protection rating for outdoor use.
It contains two 1W LEDs, which provide 70,000 hours of continuous illumination.
Installation instructions for fitting the NICE Wallyght WLT warning light/beacon
1. Preparing the mounting plate
Use a screwdriver to punch out the pre-marked holes for the screws. Use a knife to cut an opening for the cable at the bottom, or punch out the pre-marked hole above the centerline (in this case, properly insulate the hole or use a cable gland).
2. Marking the mounting plate position
At this stage, you should already have run the cabling. Mark the required mounting holes. For vertical installation, position the body with the arrow pointing down.
3. Fitting the seal
This step is essential for outdoor use. Fit the seal from the front, with the protrusion facing up, and make sure it is not twisted.
4. Installing the mounting plate
a) Drill the marked holes
b) Insert suitable wall plugs for your mounting surface
c) Fit the screw seals onto the screws
d) Tighten the screws carefully
5. Setting the light direction
You have two options: the light can shine in all directions (360°), or you can direct it in a specific direction (180°). At this stage, we recommend skipping ahead to step 6, complete the installation with the light set in either direction, then come back to this step in the dark with a headlamp so you can see how the light works :)
6. Connecting the wiring
If you are notconnecting the NICE WLT on top of a WALKY motor (which 99% of you are not doing), do notuse the supplied cables with connectors; instead, use your own cables with a maximum diameter of 1mm. Pull the cables out slightly, cut off the excess, and position them so they do not cast a shadow (or do not cast a shadow when the light is on). Also make sure they do not obstruct the light sensor, if you plan to use it.
7. Fitting the top cover
a, c) Fit the top cover so that the arrow on it aligns with the arrow on the mounting plate
b) Also make sure the four tabs on the mounting plate fit into the grooves in the top cover
d) Fit the screw seal onto the screw
e) Tighten the screw carefully
8. Fitting the cap
Fit the cap with the NICE logo, and you're done.
Enabling/disabling the light sensor on the NICE WLT
The light sensor means the NICE WLT will be off during the day and on at night. The light sensor is notenabled by default. If you want to use this function (WARNING, this is only possible when the light is set to 180°; see step 5b), solder the connection on the circuit board as shown:
Note: If you want to disable the light sensor again, break the connection (desolder it).
