Description of NICE FT210B - photocells with wireless/BlueBUS connection (1 pair)
An effective alternative to photocells with a reflector or a wired connection between the safety edge and the control unit.
Download the NICE FT210B photocell manual.
The FT210B photocell beam has a 210° range, increasing safety and simplifying gate installation: gates and doors can be automated in places where this was previously very difficult.
The infrared transmitter is powered by a long-lasting lithium battery life (battery not included):
Suitable for all surface types – easy to install.
FT210B photocells are available with BlueBUS technology, which lets you easily connect all devices using just two-wire cables. Devices connected to the BlueBUS network are detected automatically.
Please note: the photocells are not compatible with the NICE MC824H and MC800 control units. They are compatible only with BlueBUS control units that support FT A, FT B and FT C photocell addressing (essentially, only Robus and Run sliding gate operators).
Special circuits prevent interference with other receivers.
FT210B photocells feature a special motion sensor that reduces power consumption and activates only when the gate is moving.
Range adjustable to two levels.
LED-assisted photocell alignment for easy, safe installation.

NICE FT210B photocell specifications
| Product type | Safety photocells for wireless transmission of information from a safety edge, or for protecting a passageway with an infrared beam. The device consists of two parts: a TX transmitter mounted on the gate leaf (moving, wireless and battery-powered) and a fixed RX receiver connected by cable. |
|---|---|
| Technology | Direct TX-RX optical transmission using a modulated, coded infrared beam |
| RX receiver power supply | Only NICE BlueBUS, which powers the device and enables communication using just a two-wire cable. |
| RX receiver power consumption | half a BlueBUS unit |
| TX transmitter power supply | 3.6 V lithium battery, type AA or C |
| TX transmitter battery life (with JP3 enabled; see manual) |
|
| Safety edge resistance |
Typically 8.2 kΩ; +22% / -65% for ON status
|
| Objects detected | Opaque objects located on the axis between TX and RX, larger than 50 mm and moving slower than 1.6 m/s |
| TX transmitter beam angle | +/- 4° at 50% power |
| RX receiver field of view | +/- 3° at 50% power |
| Adjustable angle | Approximately 210° horizontally and 30° vertically |
|
Photocell range (usable) |
At an offset of +/- 2°: 7 m, or 15 m with jumper JP1 on the TX transmitter inserted. |
| Photocell range (maximum) |
At an offset of +/- 2°: 15 m, or 30 m with jumper JP1 on the TX transmitter inserted. |
| Response time | Less than 96 ms (typically 65 ms) when one pair of NICE MOFB photocells is connected in parallel |
| Use in acidic or salty environments, or in areas with an increased risk of explosion | No. |
| Installation | RX: vertical surface mounting on a wall or post TX: mounted directly on the gate leaf using screws |
| Ingress protection rating | IP44 |
| Operating temperature | -20°C to 55°C |
| Dimensions | 46x128x45 (W × H × D) |
| Weight | RX receiver: 135 g TX transmitter: 165 g with battery FTA1, or 140 g with battery FTA2 |
