Description of GSM SMART 3 - Module for controlling a gate by mobile phone, 2 outputs, 2 inputs
Device for controlling appliances, especially sliding gates, garage doors, swing gates or barriers, by calling the device from a mobile phone. Suitable for residential complexes and larger companies with up to 1,000 users. The device and user accounts are managed using an Android app or configuration text messages. The GSM SMART 3 fits under the cover of any sliding gate operator in our range (provided it does not contain a backup battery). The GSM module includes a small antenna in the package; to improve GSM reception, we recommend purchasing an external antenna external antenna (ANT1, ANT2).
Both the GSM LITE 3+ and SMART 3 modules can operate in two modes:
- controlled mode – the module grants access only to authorised numbers (entered by the administrator)
- “party mode” – the module grants access to anyone who knows the number
Controlling multiple outputs with a single GSM module
The GSM module has a slot for just one SIM card, but it can control multiple devices. You can use three methods
- 1) Granting individual users access to specific devices
Example: Output 1 controls the entrance gate, and output 2 controls the warehouse gate. The secretary only needs access to the entrance gate, as she has no reason to enter the warehouse, so calling the module activates output 1. The warehouse worker, who has access to the warehouse gate, can call the same GSM module; their call will open the warehouse gate. - 2) Activating outputs one after another during a single call
Example: The first ring (ringing signal) activates output 1; the third ring during the same call activates output 2, and so on. - 3) Selecting an output based on the number of rings (during a single call)
With this method, you call the GSM module and it activates the required output based on the number of rings (ringing signals).
1–3 rings activate output 1
3–6 rings activate output 2
If you are not connecting the GSM module to a motor, we recommend purchasing a 12 V / 1 A power supply, without connector.
