Description of NICE ERA Transponder Reader ETPB – contactless card reader with BlueBUS technology
Card reader NICE ERA Transponder Reader ETPB is a device that allows only authorized persons to enter a building or operate the gate or other automation. This person is assigned a card or key fob, which sends a command to the drive when held up to the card reader. Cards are stored in the reader's memory; the card itself stores no information, so it can be used to operate any number of automation systems.
The NICE ETPB reader communicates with the drive using the BlueBUS system, connecting the reader to the control unit with just a two-core cable, for which polarity does not need to be observed. Up to four card readers can be connected to one drive. Each reader is assigned a unique address using a jumper, allowing the drive to identify each reader.
The reader can store up to 255 cards, or key fobs.
When installed correctly, the detection range is up to 4 cm.
A set number of access attempts can be programmed for a given card, for example, for visitors.
The drive can be permanently locked and subsequently unlocked again.
Easy reader programming
The ETPB reader can send two commands to the control unit:
- command 1: step-by-step
- command 2: partial opening
Simple programming mode:
1) Press the T button. The reader will beep every 30 seconds.
2) Select the next command and program it onto the card
- to program command 1: present the new card to the reader once
- to program command 2: present the new card to the reader twice
3) You can program another new card within 10 seconds of presenting the previous card
4) To exit programming mode, wait more than 10 seconds
| Reader beeps during programming | |

| 2 beeps | Indicates that an invalid card was presented to the reader |
| 3 beeps | Indicates that programming was completed successfully |
