Drive NICE Wingo WG3524 is designed for automating swing gates with a leaf length of up to 3.5 m and a weight of up to 500 kg. The drive is non-reversible, and features a two-piece body made of pressure-die-cast aluminium with a polyester coating that resists weathering. All internal moving parts are made of steel, light alloys and technopolymers. The lead nut is made of bronze to ensure high strength and quiet operation. The start capacitor is located inside the drive to make installation as simple as possible. The drives are dimensionally backward-compatible with the previous Moby and Pluto ranges from Italian manufacturer NICE; all mounting dimensions and pin diameters are the same. The drive uses 24V, making it better suited to applications with more frequent use than the 230V version. However, it is not suitable for windy locations, especially with solid, opaque gate infill.
Control unit MCA2R30 in the control panel MC424LR30 allows simple programming, automatic learning of limit positions, automatic fault diagnosis, adjustable pause time in automatic closing mode, pedestrian mode, slow-down before the end positions, obstacle impact detection, and emergency operation when using PS124 backup power supply, using the connecting cable CABLA11, an input for all types of drive safety edges, and much more.
The Wingo drives offer good value for money for automating swing gates in residential and light industrial settings. The entire Wingo range is reliable and quiet. Detailed technical specifications ». Download the manual ».

Important note: This drive is a standalone unit, i.e. it will not work on its own.. We offer it separately in our online shop so you can put together an automation system tailored exactly to your requirements. You must purchase at least a control unit for the drive (NICE Moonclever MC424LR30 or the older MC424LR10), and optionally other accessories. If you’re not sure what you need, a good place to start is our selection of discounted pre-configured kits.

Accessories compatible with the NICE Wingo WG3524 gate operator
We also recommend adding these compatible optional accessories to your gate operator:
| What | Why | Type |
|---|---|---|
| Control unit | Gate operator control electronics. | |
| Warning light | Flashes to indicate gate movement—ideal for exits with limited visibility. Also includes an antenna for a longer remote-control range. |
Alternatively, all warning lights with a 12 V–24 V power supply from other manufacturers. |
| Photocells | When closing, they detect obstacles and stop the gate—preventing it from hitting vehicles or people. | |
| Transmitter | For remote control of the gate. | |
| Receiver |
For remote control of the gate. The control unit MCA2R30 already has a built-in receiver. These additional receivers are optional extras. |
|
| Antenna |
For improved remote-control range. |
|
| Keypad |
If you forget your remote, or if many vehicles or people need access and you don't want to give everyone a remote or open the gate manually. |
|
| Key switch |
To operate the gate with a key using a switch wired to the drive from any location. |
|
| Card readers |
Operate the drive by holding a card or key fob up to the card reader. |
|
| Electric locks |
Safety electric locks are synchronized with the drive via the control unit. When the drive receives an opening command, the electric lock is released first, and only then does the gate start to open. The lock engages again once the gate has closed. Required for gate leaves longer than 3.5 m. |

NICE Wingo WG3524 drive manual
Choosing a drive – is the drive NICE Wingo WG3524 suitable for my gate?
|
|
NICE Wingo WG3524 drive limitsEach gate has a leaf length (and therefore leverage) and weight (and therefore the force exerted by the leaf's weight), and each drive has its limits. The NICE Wingo WG3524 drive is suitable for gate leaf lengths and weights within the limits shown in the image on the left. This means the drive is suitable for gates ranging from 500 kg per metre to 200 kg per1 m3.5 m. Example: Point B, with a gate leaf weighing 450 kg and measuring 2 m, is outside the permitted range and is therefore unsuitable. Choose a more powerful drive. Point A, with a gate leaf weighing 200 kg and measuring 3 m, is within the permitted range. You can install it. |
Service life of the NICE Wingo WG3524 drive
In the following table, add the stress index values for the gate leaf's weight and length, then add the index values for any other applicable factors. Then use the graph to estimate the drive's service life in operating cycles.
Example: I have a gate with a 6 m opening (two 1.5 m leaves) and a frame with infill weighing up to 200 kg per leaf. I calculate the leaf-length index as approximately 20, add the gate-weight index of 10, and, to be on the safe side, add 10 for low temperatures because our winters are harsher. This gives me a total index of 40. The graph indicates that the drive's service life is approximately 60,000 cycles. At 10 operations per day, this works out to a service life of approximately 16 years.
| Overall automation characteristics | Index | Service life graph |
|---|---|---|

The recommended maximum total index is up to 60%. (i.e. 50,000 cycles, which equals 13 years at a typical rate of 10 cycles/day) |

| Diagram showing inward opening | Diagram showing outward opening |
Calculate the position of the rear bracket using the Graph, which shows the dimensions A and B and the maximum opening angle. Note that the values A and B must be similar (ideally identical) to ensure the drive moves smoothly in a straight line.
![]() |
![]() |
| Calculation graph | Example of reading values from the graph |
Full dimensions of the mounting bracket.
Calculation procedure:
- Measure the distance C from the Diagram
- On the Graph draw a horizontal line intersecting the measured value C
- The point where this line intersects the DIL (Recommended Installation Line) shows you the maximum opening angle
- If the maximum opening angle is unsuitable, you will need to adjust the value A and, if necessary, the value B, so that they are similar (ideally identical)
Before attaching the bracket to a post or wall, cut it to the required length corresponding to the dimensions A and B and weld it to the mounting plate.
![]() |
![]() |
| 1. Cut the bracket to the required length | 2. Weld the shortened bracket to the mounting plate |
The supplied package includes a 150 mm bracket. If you need a longer bracket for a special installation, or if you need the gate to open outward, we recommend ordering the extended NICE PLA6 bracket.
If everything is correct, attach the rear bracket to the post or wall using screws, wall plugs and washers.
II. Installing the front mounting bracket
The front bracket must be mounted on the gate leaf at a distance determined by the values D and E, which you can read from the Table (value D is fixed at 850 mm):
| A | 100 | 110 | 120 | 130 | 140 | 150 | 160 | 170 | 180 | 190 | 200 | 210 | 220 | 230 | 240 | 250 | 260 | 270 | 280 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| E | 750 | 740 | 730 | 720 | 710 | 700 | 690 | 680 | 670 | 660 | 650 | 640 | 630 | 620 | 610 | 600 | 590 | 580 | 570 |
The supplied package includes a weld-on bracket. If you would prefer a screw-on bracket, we recommend ordering the alternative NICE PLA8 screw-on bracket.
- Calculate from the table value E
- Calculate the height according to the image bracket heights (view image)
- Attach the bracket to the gate leaf (if welding the bracket, we recommend only tacking it in place for now)

Manual release of the NICE Wingo WG3524 drive
In the event of a power outage, you will not be able to operate the gate using the remote control. Therefore, the drive can be released using the release key and the gate can be moved manually:
| 1. Slide the release lock cover aside | 2. Insert the release key and turn it clockwise | 3. Pull out the release lever and move the gate manually |
