Description of NICE Wingo WG3524 HS high-speed operator
NICE WINGO WG3524HS is a fast standalone electromechanical operator for one leaf of a residential gate. It is one of the Hi-Speed operators and features a 24 V DC motor with a magnetic encoder. With standard installation, it opens to 90° in approximately 10 seconds, excluding acceleration and deceleration time. It is non-reversible; in the event of a power failure, it can be released with a key. The control unit and safety accessories are selected separately.
When to choose the WINGO WG3524HS
Choose based on the length and weight of one leaf, the number of cycles, hinge resistance, infill, and wind exposure. The gate must move smoothly by hand along its entire travel and must not start moving on its own after stopping.
| Length of one leaf | Up to 3 m, with weight as shown in the graph. |
|---|---|
| Weight of one leaf | Up to 200 kg for a short leaf; at 3 m, the limit is approximately 100 kg. |
| Duty cycle | Up to 30 cycles/hour at rated force; one cycle consists of opening and closing. |
| Number of operators | One operator per leaf; two operators for a double-leaf gate. |
The horizontal axis shows length in metres, and the vertical axis shows weight in kilograms. The permissible range is shown in grey. Point A is an example of a suitable combination; point B is outside the permissible range. A solid leaf and wind can limit suitability even when the dimensions are within the stated limits.
Control unit for a 24 V motor
This operator is designed for the NICE MC824HR30 / MCA1R30 MC824H type, with magnetic encoder support. The control unit is powered by 230 V AC, while the motor is supplied with 24 V DC. Do not connect the motor directly to the mains. The MC824L is designed for other motors and cannot be used as a direct replacement.
The following wiring and programming instructions apply to the MC824HR30 with 12 Motor Type switches. If retaining an older control unit, follow the markings on its circuit board. Full settings are provided in the combined MC824HR30 manual.
What’s included with the standalone operator
Standalone motor with release keys, front and rear brackets, mounting plate, fasteners, and a pre-installed mechanical opening stop. Anchors for the specific substrate must be selected to suit the material of the post or wall.
The control unit, receiver, remotes, photocells, and warning light are not included with the standalone motor. The gate assembly requires mechanical stops to define both the open and closed positions; for opening, you can use an adjustable stop in the operator. Choose a kit for a complete setup.
Kits for one or two leaves
The kits listed include the MC824HR30, OXIBD receiver and MYGO4 remote. The photocell version adds a pair of EPMB; the version with accessories also includes the ELDC warning light. The number of operators matches the number of leaves.
| Gate | Kit |
|---|---|
| 1 leaf | Standard |
| 1 leaf | With accessories |
| 1 leaf | With photocells |
| 2 leaves | Standard |

I. Installing the rear bracket
Installation, electrical wiring, and testing must be carried out by a qualified technician. Disconnect the mains and any backup battery before starting work. Check the strength of the gate leaf, hinges, and anchoring points. The cover and manual release must remain accessible throughout the product’s service life.
A motors, B photocells, C opening stops, D photocell posts, E warning light, F control device, and G control unit. The technician will determine the number and position of the safety devices for the specific gate.
- Measure C, the offset of the hinge axis from the mounting surface as shown in the diagram.
- Find C on the chart and read off horizontally B. At the recommended mounting line r.i.l., read off the achievable opening angle.
- From the selected point, read off vertically A. A and B should be similar, ideally the same. Dimensions must remain within the permitted area of the chart.
- Check that there is enough space for the motor's full travel and for the front bracket on the fixed part of the gate leaf.
The supplied rear bracket is 150 mm long. It is shortened to suit the geometry and welded to a mounting plate; the plate is secured with suitable anchors. If you need a greater offset, choose the NICE PLA6 extended rear bracket. The dimensions shown in the chart must still be observed after replacing it.
Outward opening
For outward opening, use the geometry shown in the following diagram and the extended rear bracket PLA6. The technician will check clearance outside the passage, the correct direction of both motors, and the limit-position learning procedure. The standard dimensions for inward opening do not apply to this installation.
II. Front bracket and dimensions
For the WG3524HS, the installation dimension is D = 850 mm and the relationship E = D − A. D is not the piston-rod stroke. Weld the front bracket to the fixed part of the gate leaf; for a bolted connection, use the NICE PLA8.

The front mounting point on the gate leaf is F = 30 mm lower than the rear mounting point. The motor must be level; check its position with a spirit level before finally securing the brackets.
- Attach the motor to the rear bracket using the supplied bolt, washer, and nut. Tighten the nut, then loosen it by approximately 1/10 turn, leaving the minimum necessary clearance.
- Connect the front end to the bracket using the supplied parts, as shown in the illustration.
- With the motor unlocked, manually test the gate leaf through its full travel. It must not bind or hit the post.
III. Mechanical stops
The pre-installed adjustable stop in the operator sets the opening position and can replace a separate gate opening stop. Provide a solid mechanical gate stop for the closed position. Both ends of travel must be reliably limited; when closing, do not rely on the end of the piston-rod stroke.
- With the power disconnected, unlock the operator and loosen the stop screw.
- Manually open the gate leaf to the desired position.
- Slide the stop up to the pin and tighten it. Observe the dimension 90 mm max. in the detail. This is not the motor's total stroke, which is 470 mm.
- Manually close the gate leaf, lock the motor, and only then perform the limit-position learning procedure.
Manual release in the event of a power failure
- Stop the gate, disconnect the power supply, and secure the gate leaf to prevent it from moving on its own. If the gate has an electric lock, unlock it first.
- Slide the lock cover aside, insert the key, and turn it clockwise.
- Lift the handle and guide its movement. The gate leaf can now be moved manually.
- To restore operation, lower the handle, turn the key counterclockwise, remove it, and close the cover. Check that the gate is secured before operating it with the motor again.
If the gate is the only entrance to the property, plan access to the release mechanism during installation.
Wiring with MC824HR30
Keep the mains cable separate from signal cables. Protect cables from water and movement, secure them in cable glands, and leave the required slack. The power supply must have suitable overcurrent protection and a means of complete disconnection.
| Circuit | Cable | Maximum length |
|---|---|---|
| 230 V power supply to the control unit | 3 × 1.5 mm² | 30 m |
| Each motor + encoder | 3 × 1.5 mm² + 2 × 1 mm² or 5 × 1.5 mm² | 10 m |
| BlueBUS | 2 × 0.5 mm² | 20 m; for lengths over 20 m and up to 40 m, 2 × 1 mm² |
| Flashing light | 2 × 0.5 mm² | 20 m |
| Key switch | 2 cables, 2 × 0.5 mm² each | 50 m |
| Electric lock | 2 × 1 mm² | 10 m |
| Antenna | RG58 | 20 m; less than 5 m recommended |
For details, including longer mains cable runs, see MC824HR30 wiring. Check wire colours against the specific motor; encoder wires must not be connected to the motor output.
Connections, polarity, and photocells
| M1/M2 and ENC1/ENC2 | Each motor has its own motor connector and encoder connector. M2 opens first; M1 closes first. Connect a single motor to M2/ENC2. |
|---|---|
| Auxiliary power supply | The left contact in the SbS pair is + (plus), the right contact in the STOP pair is − (minus). 24 V DC −30/+50%, maximum 200 mA. |
| BlueBUS | Two-wire connection for photocells, with no polarity. Each pair must have the correct address for its function. |
| STOP | Learned safety input for NO, NC, or 8.2 kΩ; select the wiring type to match the device. |
| SbS / OPEN / CLOSE | Volt-free NO commands. Do not connect an external voltage to the control inputs. |
| FLASH | 12 V DC / 21 W, compatible with ELDC. Check the +/− markings on the specific output and flashing light. |
| ELS / OGI | ELS is 12 V AC / 15 VA, with no +/− polarity. OGI 24 V / 4 W is a programmable output; connect it according to the selected function. |
The plus and minus positions apply to the auxiliary power supply at the specified contacts; they are not instructions for bridging the inputs. BlueBUS, the encoder, and volt-free contacts do not use this +/− arrangement.
For the current setup, use, for example, EPMB photocells. Other options include EPSB, EPLB and F210B. Wireless EPMOW require the IBW. Wiring and addresses are covered in the BlueBUS section.
Initial setup with MC824HR30
1. Selecting the correct motor
With the power disconnected, set the WG3524HS to Motor Type: DIP 8 ON, all other DIP switches 1–7 and 9–12 OFF. This is not the L1–L8 function setting.
2. Learning the devices
- Check the motor/encoder connectors, mechanical stops, and operation of the safety devices. Switch on the power.
- Press and hold Open + Stop/Set. When L1 and L2 start flashing rapidly after about 3 seconds, release the buttons.
- Wait for the process to finish. The STOP LED must be lit and L1/L2 must be off. Repeat the learning procedure after changing a safety device.
3. Automatic position learning
- Press and hold Stop/Set + Close, until L3/L4 start flashing rapidly after approximately 5 seconds. Release the buttons.
- Watch the entire travel: M1 closes slowly, then M2; M2 and M1 open slowly, then both leaves close quickly.
- If the direction or sequence is incorrect, stop the learning procedure using the Open or Close button and disconnect the power. A technician can correct the motor direction; if the sequence is reversed, swap the motor connectors and the corresponding encoder connectors. With a single motor, leave it connected to M2/ENC2.
- When the procedure is completed correctly, L3/L4 go out. If PHOTO/STOP is triggered and L1 lights up, remove the cause and repeat the learning procedure.
Manual and mixed learning, slowdown positions and detailed corrections are covered in the MC824HR30 position-learning guide. Carry out complete tests before handover, not just one successful run.
Settings and remote controls
Set automatic closing, pause time, speed, force and other functions according to the MC824HR30 programming guide. Do not increase the force to compensate for a gate that is difficult to move. Repeat the safety tests after making any changes.
The control unit requires a radio receiver. Current kits include OXIBD and MYGO4. For two-way communication with OXIBD, the recommended option is ON3EBD. You can keep using OXI with the corresponding remote controls; OXILR requires remote controls from the ONE LR.
Other available options include INTI2, ON2E, FLO2RE and NICEWAY; choose based on the receiver and its coding family. Frequency alone does not guarantee compatibility. Pair the remote controls according to the receiver and antenna instructions.
For OXIBD, connect the external antenna directly to the receiver's antenna terminals. Observe the coaxial cable's centre conductor and shield markings; these are not +/− power connections.
Adding accessories
| Warning light | ELDC for the corresponding DC output. WLT must only be connected to a voltage and function supported by its instructions; never connect it directly to 230 V. |
|---|---|
| Photocells | EPMB and other compatible BlueBUS devices. |
| Brackets | PLA6 for the required extension of the rear mounting point; PLA8 for screw-mounted front fixing. |
| Service interface | IBT4N and OVIEW for professional setup and diagnostics. |
Operation during a power outage
The MC824HR30 supports the NICE PSS324 backup battery. The older PS324 is connected via CABLA11 and the Standby function must be switched off when using it. When choosing a replacement, always specify the exact model of both the control unit and the battery.
Make connections with both the mains and the battery disconnected. Runtime depends on the battery condition and the gate load. For details, see the MC824HR30 backup power instructions; without a battery, manual release..
If the gate is not operating correctly
| Symptom | What to check |
|---|---|
| Motor does not move | Control unit power supply, release mechanism secured, STOP and photocells; if it has shut down after overloading, let it cool and remove the cause. |
| Leaves move in the wrong sequence | M2/ENC2 opens first, M1/ENC1 closes first; inspect and adjust only with the power disconnected. |
| Stops or reverses | Obstruction, wind, hinge resistance, photocells, stops and encoder connection. |
| L1/L2 or L3/L4 are flashing | Device or position learning is not yet complete; follow the instructions for the relevant stage. |
| Warning light indicates a fault | MC824HR30 diagnostic table explains the number of flashes and the corresponding response. |
Resetting is not the first step for a routine fault. Clearing the settings requires repeating the learning procedure and checking safety; radio remote controls are managed separately in the receiver.
Estimated service life
Add the relevant indices within the permitted gate dimensions. Include other factors if they are likely to occur more than 10% of the time. The chart shows an estimated number of cycles with regular maintenance; it is not a guarantee or a number of years.
| Characteristics of the complete automation system | Index | Service-life chart |
|---|---|---|
| Leaf weighing over 100 kg and up to 200 kg | 10% | |
| Length 1–2 m | 10% | |
| Length over 2 m up to 3 m | 20% | |
| Above 40 °C / below 0 °C or humidity above 80% | 20% | |
| Solid gate leaf infill | 15% | |
| Windy conditions | 15% |
When selecting, you must still stay within the permissible length and weight chart. The service life index does not allow for a heavier or longer gate leaf.
Testing, safety and maintenance
A technician will check the entire travel path, stops, manual release, photocells, STOP function and impact forces. In the manual test described in the motor manual, 390 N is the upper test limit for manual movement, not the target impact force setting. They will provide the manual and demonstrate how to release the system safely.
Carry out an inspection at least every 6 months, more often with intensive use. Check the brackets, screws, corrosion, hinges, condition and lubrication of the worm screw according to the manual, cables, stops and all safety devices. Disconnect the power supply and battery before maintenance.
Keep out of the gate leaves' path while they are moving. Keep controls out of children's reach and do not operate the gate unless you can see the passageway. If the gate leaf has a pedestrian gate, opening it must prevent the drive from starting. If a fault occurs, shut down the automatic system and call for service; do not bypass the safety devices.
