Description of NICE PS324 - backup battery for the operator with integrated charging
Available replacement!
The NICE PS324 backup battery has been replaced by a newer model NICE PSS324.
Backup battery NICE PS324 is designed for automated swing gates whose operators are controlled by the NICE MC824H control unit. The battery supplies the operator with the electricity it needs to move if the power supply to the operator fails. The battery is continuously recharged from the mains. When the battery is fully charged, it can provide power for approximately 10 gate movements
Warning!
For sliding-gate operators Nice Robus RBS and swing-gate operators Nice Toona, S-Fab, M-Fab, L-Fab and B-Fab with control unit version R30 (MC824HR30) a cable adapter is required to connect the backup power supply PS124 or PS324 Use cable adapter CABLA11.
Installing the backup battery NICE PS324
1. Disconnect the operator’s power supply from the mains.
2. Connect the battery to the control unit.
The connectors for connecting to the control unit are not polarized, so it does not matter which way you plug them in.
The battery comes with a power cable with two connectors, one narrow and one wide. Use the wider connector for connecting to the control unit and the narrower connector for connecting to the battery.
3. Check the connection of the NICE PS324 backup battery as follows:
Step 3.2 Connect the operator to the mains and check that the LED L1 on the battery is lit.. If it is, the battery is charging correctly. Fully open and close the gate (with the operator connected to the mains).
Step 3.3 Disconnect the operator from the mains and check that the LED L2 on the battery is lit (as in Step 3.1).). Then fully open and close the gate (with the operator disconnected from the mains and powered only by the battery) to make sure the operator works correctly on battery power alone.
Note: The operator may run at a lowerspeed when powered only by the backup battery, even if the control unit is programmed for a higher speed.
4. Reconnect the operator to the mains.
Done, everything should now be working properly. If there is a power outage, you should still be able to open and close the gate successfully..
