Description of Drive kit for sliding gates up to 400 kg/6 m NICE NKSL400 (D)
The compact Nice NKSL400 electromechanical operator is suitable for sliding gates weighing up to 400kg or with a clear opening width of 6m. The operator is supplied without covers, and is suitable for installation directly inside the gate post.
Its dimensions, 131x135x405mm make it suitable for concealed installation inside a post 150x150x4mm or larger (see drawing).
Thanks to the built-in internal limit stops there is no need to install limit stops on the rack. The stops can be set very quickly with a single operating cycle while the gate is unlocked.
The operator can be released from either side of the post, or remotely using the accessories NICE KIO and NICE KA1 as well.
The operator also features a temperature sensor, and automatically adjusts the force applied to compensate for temperature changes—for example, increasing the force automatically at low temperatures.
The operator is supplied with the control unit NKA3R10 fitted inside the operator. Popular practical features of the control unit:
- control using remote controls via a radio receiver
- option to set automatic closing after a set time or after a vehicle passes through the photocells
- inputs for wired opening, closing and step-by-step commands
- 24V DC output for additional devices
- programmable partial opening distance for pedestrian access
- adjustable force and speed
- manual release of the operator in the event of a power failure
- option to connect two operators with automatic synchronisation for automating counter-sliding gates.
A backup power supply can be connected to the operator as an optional accessory NICE PS124, providing enough power for several operating cycles during a power outage. There is enough space inside the operator to house the backup power supply.
In principle, the control unit NKA3R10 is technologically very similar to the operator NICE Robus RB400.
The operator's pinion has module 4 for the rack.

Post cut-out drawing:
Although it may look complicated at first, it’s not that difficult: in the front of the 150x150 box-section post, cut a 7cm-diameter opening for the toothed wheel and four smaller holes for mounting the drive. Cut a square opening in the back to allow access to the drive. Optionally, cut holes in the sides to release the drive. Cover the opening cut in the back with a bent sheet-metal cover made to the required size. See the layout drawings of the box-section post:
