Description of NICE KIO – key switch with release mechanism for the KA1 steel cable
NICE KIO is a combined release unit and key switch. Optionally, you can connect a power supply for the LED backlight.
Key switch function:
The box contains two volt-free microswitches, each of which can be wired to a separate command input on the device. The key switch has two positions. Turn the key 30° to the right or left; a spring in the switch returns it to the centre position. For example, turning the key to the right sends the operator an open command, while turning it to the right sends a close command.
Release unit function:
To use the release function, you need a cable NICE KA1 and an operator that supports cable release. The KA1 cable connects to the operator at one end and to this NICE KIO release unit at the other. In the event of a power failure, turn the key more than 30° in either direction to unlock the release unit, then pull the cable with the lever to release the operator.
LED backlight:
If you connect the backlight, the KIO will glow softly and continuously red. The backlight requires a 12–24 V power supply, either direct or alternating current.
