Shaft Drives

The main advantage of shaft-mounted operators for sectional garage doors is that they are not limited by the height of the door. You can easily fit an operator to a door with an area of 15m2 and install it on a door 3m wide and 5m high, which with conventional rail-mounted operators would not be possible. Thanks to this, they are used mainly in industrial settings, in auto repair shops, and for entrances used by vans, buses, trucks, and agricultural machinery, etc.—in short, for any oversized door. Of course, there is nothing to prevent installation on a standard-sized door, where the operator is oversized.

Another advantage is the ability to automate a door:

in confined spaces, where an operator cannot be installed above the door because there is no room and the door runs directly beneath the ceiling.
in spacious areas, where, for example, there is open space above the door (e.g. a pitched roof or a hall), and the roof is several metres above it, leaving nowhere to attach the door operator.

Shaft-mounted operators can also be used to automate suspended sliding gates and doors, using gears (CRA1, CRA6, CRA7) and a chain (CRA3, CRA4).

The NICE Sumo operator does not operate on its own; it only obeys commands from the control unit DPRO924, so you should always purchase a combination of operator +control unit+any necessary accessories.
