Description of NICE D-Pro Action DPRO924 - control unit for shaft drives
NICE DPRO924 control unit is designed for the shaft-mounted garage door operators in the NICE Sumo range (incremental encoder). The control unit can also be used with operators featuring an absolute encoder or electromechanical limit stops.
The control unit housing has built-in open-stop-close buttons.
Control unit features
- Automatic setting of the end positions (by mechanical stop).
- Partial opening (when using a remote control).
- Set automatic closing and the pause time before closing.
- Set the speed (in 5% increments).

Photocells
The control unit is compatible with photocells using a relay (circuit) connection, e.g. BF, EPM, EPS.
Warning light
A 24V warning light can be connected to alert people nearby that the gate is moving, e.g. ELDC.
Safety edges
Safety pressure edges are usually rubber profiles fitted to the bottom of the gate. If they touch an obstacle, the motor briefly reverses.
The control unit has a separate input for resistive safety edges with a constant resistance of 8.2 kOhm, and a separate input for mechanical (cord-operated) and optical safety edges. Other safety devices can also be connected in series to the second input. If the circuit opens, they will stop the gate or prevent it from starting to move (e.g. a magnetic switch for pedestrian access or an emergency STOP button).
Backup power supply
A backup power supply can be connected to the control unit NICE PS224, which is continuously charged from the mains and allows a few operating cycles in the event of a power failure.
Radio receiver and remote controls
A popular combination is NICE OXIBD + remote controls with rolling code, or OXILR + ON3ELR for a range of up to 1 km.
Other control devices
card readers, keypads, key switches, induction loops, number-plate recognition cameras, Wi-Fi modules, GSM call-to-open control, video door entry systems, any push buttons that switch a circuit, etc.
The control unit has a 24V DC output to power additional devices.
The control unit has an IBT4N input for connecting the OVIEW, PROVIEW programmer or Wi-Fi module IT4WIFI.
