Description of NICE BF - photocells with conventional wiring (1 pair)
Available replacement!
Photocells with conventional NICE BF wiring have been replaced by a newer model NICE EPM.
Outdoor NICE BF safety photocells are installed opposite each other across the gate opening, or at any point where there is a risk of the gate striking an obstacle. They create an infrared beam; when it is interrupted, they send a signal to stop the gate.
They consist of two synchronised components: TX transmitter and RX receiver.
Mount them on a wall, masonry wall, post or any suitable surface (surface-mounted), at the same height and facing each other along the same axis. Precise centring is not required; alignment can be easily checked using the LED on the RX receiver. The photocell housings are made of highly durable, impact-resistant polycarbonate. They are resistant to interference from sunlight and are shockproof.
If the photocell covers are damaged, you can buy a replacement pair of covers.
Photocell range NICE BF
To avoid problems caused by reflections from nearby objects, two infrared beam range settings are available:
Note: The photocell range may be reduced by 50% in adverse weather conditions (fog, rain, dust, etc.).
Synchronised connection of two pairs of photocells NICE BF
NICE BF photocells allow two pairs to be installed very close together without interference. For this connection, disconnect link “A” on the TX transmitter; see:
Then proceed according to the type of power supply:
| AC wiring | DC wiring |
|---|---|
|
Connect both pairs to the AC supply, reversing the polarity between the first and second pairs. |
For a DC supply, connect the RX receivers and TX transmitters in each pair in reverse polarity. |
CHECKING THE PHOTOCELL WIRING NICE BF
1. Interrupt the infrared beam of the installed NICE BF photocells several times to check that the relay clicks and the LED on the RX receiver lights up:
LED on: the photocells are misaligned; align them along the same axis
LED off: the photocells are correctly aligned
2. Fit the cover and check that the photocells still work with the attenuation filter in place.
3. Remove the attenuation filter
