Internal and external radio signal receivers
The receiver is used to receive radio signals from remote controls (transmitters).
Internal receivers are inserted into the drive control unit. Our range includes NICE OXIBD. The most commonly used drives, such as NICE ROAD, NICE Robus RBS, or NICE Wingo, have a receiver built into the control unit.
External receivers, such as NICE OX2, are useful when you want to use NICE remote controls to operate equipment from another brand remotely. Connect the external receiver to equipment from another brand; it receives the signal from a NICE transmitter and then sends commands to other devices. The number of devices that can be controlled depends on the number of channels on the receiver. For more information, see how external receivers work. Details on connecting external receivers and their other functions can be found by opening the relevant product page, or you can ask us for advice on suitability via our contact details.

Benefits and examples of using external receivers
NICE external receivers can be used to remotely control virtually any device. They are most commonly used to open gates, since we operate them every day. But you can also connect them to an alarm system, irrigation system, and so on, for example. One customer uses an external receiver to operate church bells remotely. The FLOX2R receiver also has a timer, which further expands its range of uses.
Using an external receiver can also help you avoid having six different types of remote controls in your car for different devices. With a suitable setup, you will be able to control all your home automation systems with a single remote control.
External receivers can also help users whose automation system has no compatible remote controls available (or where they are difficult and expensive to find). This can happen if the automation system is old, the manufacturer no longer makes a remote for its coding system, or the system is from a brand that is no longer on the market, and so on. In that case, rather than going to the trouble of searching for one, the easiest option is to buy a receiver from a reliable brand, knowing that you will be able to order additional remotes without any problems in the future.
If you already own remote controls from CAME or KEY, we also offer external receivers from these brands. After connecting a receiver, you can use your older CAME or KEY remotes to operate other automation systems as well.
