relay photocells BlueBUS photocells

for control units

RBA4/A or RBA4R10

RBA4 or RBA0

MC424LR10 with MCA2R10

MC424L with MCA2

MC800 with MCA5

MCU1 or MCU4

anything with BlueBUS

(Robus, Run, Spinbus, Slight, and MC824H and MC824HR10 control units)

Wiring relay photocells

Relay photocells are non-BlueBUS, for example NICE BF, EPM, EPS, FT210  or EPL (without a B at the end).

NICE Robus RBS with MCU1 control unit (or MCU4 for the RBS600HS operator)

NICE Road RD400 with RBA4/A or RBA4R10 control unit

(wiring one pair of relay photocells without a photocell test) from control unit terminal 1 to terminal 1 on photocell TX
from control unit terminal 4 to terminal 2 on photocell TX
from control unit terminal 1 to terminal 1 on photocell RX
from control unit terminal 4 to terminal 2 on photocell RX
from control unit terminal 1 to terminal 4 on photocell RX
from control unit terminal 5 to terminal 5 on photocell RX

NICE Road RD400 with RBA4 control unit (without /A) or RBA0

(wiring one pair of BF or EPM photocells without a photocell test) from control unit terminal 4 to terminal 1 on photocell TX
from control unit terminal 1 to terminal 2 on photocell TX
from control unit terminal 4 to terminal 1 on photocell RX
from control unit terminal 1 to terminal 2 on photocell RX
from control unit terminal 1 to terminal 4 on photocell RX
from control unit terminal 5 to terminal 5 on photocell RX

NICE MC424LR10 with MCA2R10 (new control unit for Wing WG2024, WG3524 or TOO TOO3024, TOO4524)

(wiring one pair of BF or EPM photocells without standby mode and without a photocell test) from control unit terminal 7 to terminal 1 on photocell TX
from control unit terminal 6 to terminal 2 on photocell TX
from control unit terminal 7 to terminal 1 on photocell RX
from control unit terminal 6 to terminal 2 on photocell RX
from control unit terminal 8 to terminal 4 on photocell RX

From the control unit terminal (this depends on whether the photocells are inside or outside—and, of course, it is the other way around when opening outwards):

  • if the photocells are outside (PHOTO), i.e. active only when closing, connect terminal 10 to terminal 5 on photocell RX (also remove the 10-11 jumper, i.e. leave only jumpers 8-9 and 9-11)
  • or, if the photocells are inside (PHOTO1), i.e. active when opening and closing, connect terminal 11 to terminal 5 on photocell RX (also remove the 10-11 jumper, i.e. leave only jumpers 8-9 and 9-10)

NICE MC424L with MCA2 (old control unit for Wing WG2024 or WG3524)

(wiring one pair of BF or EPM photocells without standby mode and without a photocell test) from control unit terminal 10 to terminal 1 on photocell TX
from control unit terminal 9 to terminal 2 on photocell TX
from control unit terminal 10 to terminal 1 on photocell RX
from control unit terminal 9 to terminal 2 on photocell RX
from control unit terminal 11 to terminal 4 on photocell RX

From the control unit terminal (this depends on whether the photocells are inside or outside—and, of course, it is the other way around when opening outwards):

  • if the photocells are outside (PHOTO), i.e. active only when closing, connect terminal 13 to terminal 5 on photocell RX (also remove the 13-14 jumper, i.e. leave only jumpers 11-12 and 12-14)
  • or, if the photocells are inside (PHOTO1), i.e. active when opening and closing, connect terminal 14 to terminal 5 on photocell RX (also remove the 13-14 jumper, i.e. leave only jumpers 11-12 and 12-13)

NICE MC800 with MCA5 (230 V motors, e.g. WG4000, WG5000, TOO3000, TOO4500, TO4005, TO4016P, ...)

(wiring one pair of BF or EPM photocells without a photocell test)

Note: Relay or BlueBUS photocells can be connected to the MC800 (not simultaneously; it has to be one or the other). You need to set the type of photocells used: If the LP LED is not lit, press and hold the PHOTO PRG button until the LP LED lights up, then release it.

from control unit terminal 4 to terminal 1 on photocell TX
from control unit terminal 3 to terminal 2 on photocell TX
from control unit terminal 4 to terminal 1 on photocell RX
from control unit terminal 3 to terminal 2 on photocell RX
from control unit terminal 4 to terminal 4 on photocell RX

From the control unit terminal (this depends on whether the photocells are inside or outside—and, of course, it is the other way around when opening outwards):

  • if the photocells are outside (PHOTO), i.e. active only when closing, connect terminal 8 to terminal 5 on photocell RX
  • or, if the photocells are inside (PHOTO1), i.e. active when opening and closing, connect terminal 9 to terminal 5 on photocell RX

Leave the other AUX In inputs unused.

Wiring BlueBUS photocells

For NICE Robus RBS, Robus RB, Run, Spinbus and Slight operators, and MCU1, MCU4, MC824H and MC824HR10 control units (all models with BlueBUS) the same throughout, i.e. run a two-core cable from both TX and RX to the BlueBUS terminal on the control unit; polarity does not matter.

However, after each wiring change, the system must be configured as follows: Press and hold the OPEN and STOP/SET buttons together until LEDs L1+L2 start flashing together more rapidly, then release them. Wait until L1+L2 stop flashing; the configuration is complete.

For the MC800 control unit, this must first be configured: If the LP LED is lit, press and hold the PHOTO PRG button until the LP LED goes out, then release it.
