Description of NICE XBA8 - built-in traffic light for the M-Bar, L-Bar barrier

NICE XBA8 is an electronic device that uses signaling via green and red LEDs. It can be used as a signal light (traffic light), depending on the settings of the control unit to which it is connected.

The device is compatible only with the control units for NICE M-BAR and NICE L-BAR.

The traffic light operates in two modes, depending on how the jumpers are set:

Configuration I (default) Configuration II (optional)
The "One-way traffic light", "Red" or "Green" function should be enabled on the control unit. The "Two-way traffic light" function should be enabled on the control unit.

 

Installing the NICE XBA8 traffic light

1. Before installation

Make sure the surface is clean; if not, clean it. Set the jumpers to the required operating mode.

Warning:

  • Disconnect the barrier from the power supply before changing the jumper connections.
  • Incorrect jumper connections—i.e. connections other than those specified in the manual—may permanently damage the device.
  • Before handling the jumpers, make sure you are not carrying a static charge. To discharge any static electricity, touch a grounded metal object first.

2. Fitting

Connect the power connector. Insert the device into the barrier housing. Tighten using the supplied screws.

3. Electrical connections

Important: All electrical connections and wiring must be carried out with the barrier disconnected from the power supply.

Connect the connector to the control unit. Ground the device.
For the S-Bar barrier For M-Bar and L-Bar barriers
Not compatible. Connect the connector to the control unit of the M-Bar and L-Bar barrier. Ground the device.
