Programming the functions of the NICE Shel drive with the NICE OGA0 control unit

Warning: This procedure is for the older NICE OGA0 control unit, if you have the NICE OGA2N control unit, use the newer procedure.

Warning: The NICE Shel drive must have a paired remote control with four channels (four buttons) for programming.

Programmable functions of the Shel drive

The Shel drive has 4 programmable functions. Default values are set at the factory, so if you don't need to change anything, there's nothing to program. These functions are:

  1. Automatic closing: whether, and after how many seconds, the gate closes automatically after opening. Available values:
    1. Off – factory setting
    2. After 15 seconds
    3. After 30 seconds
    4. After 60 seconds
  2. Opening/closing speed: how quickly the gate opens and closes. Available values:
    1. Slow opening / Slow closing
    2. Slow opening / Fast closing
    3. Fast opening / Slow closing
    4. Fast opening / Fast closing – factory setting
  3. Obstacle sensitivity (force): the lower the sensitivity, the longer the drive will push against an obstacle before switching off. If the sensitivity is set too high, the drive may detect the gate itself as an obstacle.
    1. High sensitivity (Low force)
    2. Medium-high sensitivity (Medium-low force)
    3. Medium-low sensitivity (Medium-high force) – factory setting
    4. Low sensitivity (High force)
  4. Pressure release after closing: how long the reverse movement runs after the gate closes. Available values:
    1. No release
    2. Minimum release – factory setting
    3. Medium release
    4. Maximum release

Programming procedure for the NICE Shel drive

Warning: This procedure is for the older NICE OGA0 control unit, if you have the NICE OGA2N control unit, use the newer procedure.

Choose the functionyou want to reprogram and the value you want to assign, then follow these steps:

  1. Press and hold the first and second buttons on the remote control simultaneously for about 5 seconds. The red and green LEDs will light up together; then release the buttons.
  2. Press the button on the remote control paired with the drive once for one second; the green LED on the control unit will flash once.
  3. Press the remote control button corresponding to the function you want to set for one second. To set:
    1. Automatic closing, press the first button (usually at the top left).
    2. Opening/closing speed, press the second button (usually at the top right).
    3. Obstacle sensitivity (force), press the third button (usually at the bottom left).
    4. Pressure release after closing, press the fourth button (usually at the bottom right).
  4. Now simply press the button corresponding to the value you want to program for the selected function. If that doesn't make sense, don't worry—there's also an example :)
  5. Wait a moment, and you're done.

Programming examples:

Setting automatic closing after 60 seconds

You are programming function one (Automatic closing) to value four (60 seconds).

  1. Press and hold the first and second buttons on the remote control simultaneously for about 5 seconds. The red and green LEDs will light up together; then release the buttons.
  2. Press the button on the remote control once.
  3. Press for one second the first button on the remote control (usually at the top left).
  4. Press for one second the fourth button on the remote control (usually at the bottom right).
  5. Wait a moment, and you're done.

Setting medium release when closing

You are programming function four (Pressure release after closing) to value three (medium release).

  1. Press and hold the first and second buttons on the remote control simultaneously for about 5 seconds. The red and green LEDs will light up together; then release the buttons.
  2. Press the button on the remote control once.
  3. Press for one second the fourth button on the remote control (usually at the bottom right).
  4. Press for one second the third button on the remote control (usually at the bottom left).
  5. Wait a moment, and you're done.

Setting maximum force (minimum sensitivity)

You are programming function three (Obstacle sensitivity (force)) to value four (Low sensitivity (High force)).

  1. Press and hold the first and second buttons on the remote control simultaneously for about 5 seconds. The red and green LEDs will light up together; then release the buttons.
  2. Press the button on the remote control once.
  3. Press for one second third button on the remote control (usually at the bottom left).
  4. Press for one second fourth button on the remote control (usually at the bottom right).
  5. Wait a moment and you're done.
