Programming NICE Shel drive functions

Note: This procedure is for the newer NICE OGA2N control unit, if you have the NICE OGA0 control unit, use older procedure.

Note: The NICE Shel drive needs to be paired with a four-channel (four-button) remote control for programming.

Programmable functions of the Shel drive

The Shel drive has 4 programmable functions. The default values are set at the factory, so if you don't need to change anything, there's no need to program anything. These functions are:

  1. Automatic closing: whether, or after how many seconds, the gate closes automatically after opening. Available values:
    1. Off - factory default
    2. After 15 seconds
    3. After 30 seconds
    4. After 60 seconds
  2. Opening/closing speed: how quickly the gate opens/closes. Available values:
    1. Slow opening / Slow closing
    2. Slow opening / Fast closing
    3. Fast opening / Slow closing
    4. Fast opening / Fast closing - factory default
  3. Obstacle sensitivity (force): The lower the sensitivity, the longer the drive will push against an obstacle before switching off. If the sensitivity is set too high, the drive may interpret the gate itself as an obstacle.
    1. High sensitivity (low force)
    2. Medium-high sensitivity (medium-low force)
    3. Medium-low sensitivity (medium-high force) - factory default
    4. Low sensitivity (high force)
  4. Pressure release after closing: how long the drive reverses after the gate closes. Available values:
    1. No release
    2. Minimum release - factory default
    3. Medium release
    4. Maximum release

NICE Shel drive programming procedure

Note: This procedure is for the newer NICE OGA2N control unit, if you have the NICE OGA0 control unit, use older procedure.

Select the functionyou want to reprogram and the value you want to set, then follow the procedure:

  1. Press and hold the first and second buttons on the remote simultaneously for about 5 seconds, then the red and green LEDs will light up together; release the buttons on the remote control. The red and green LEDs will then light up together; release the buttons on the remote control.
  2. Press the button on the control unit once.
  3. Press the corresponding button on the remote for one second to select the function you want to set. For example, to set:
    1. Automatic closing, press the first button (usually at the top left).
    2. Opening/closing speed, press the second button (usually at the top right).
    3. Obstacle sensitivity (force), press the third button (usually at the bottom left).
    4. Pressure release after closing, press the fourth button (usually at the bottom right).
  4. Now simply press the button corresponding to the setting you want to program for the selected function. If that doesn't make sense, don't worry—there's an example :)
  5. Press the button on the control unit once without holding it down to end programming.

Programming examples:

Setting automatic closing after 60 seconds

You are programming function one (Automatic closing) to value four (60 seconds).

  1. Press and hold the first and second buttons on the remote control simultaneously for about 5 seconds, then the red and green LEDs will light up together; release the buttons on the remote control. The red and green LEDs will then light up together; release the buttons on the remote control.
  2. Press the button on the control unit once.
  3. Press for one second the first button on the remote control (usually at the top left).
  4. Press for one second the fourth button on the remote control (usually at the bottom right).
  5. Press the button on the control unit once without holding it down to end programming.

Setting medium release when closing

You are programming function four (Pressure release after closing) to value three (medium release).

  1. Press and hold the first and second buttons on the remote control simultaneously for about 5 seconds, then the red and green LEDs will light up together; release the buttons on the remote control. The red and green LEDs will then light up together; release the buttons on the remote control.
  2. Press the button on the control unit once.
  3. Press for one second the fourth button on the remote control (usually at the bottom right).
  4. Press for one second the third button on the remote control (usually at the bottom left).
  5. Press the button on the control unit once without holding it down to end programming.
