Description of Hydraulic resistance brake BSF-M
Hydraulic brake for sliding gates, designed for slopes. Suitable for powered sliding gates on an uphill slope. In these situations, pulling or braking the gate can damage the drive, so a hydraulic/resistance brake is needed to assist it. The resistance brake protects the gearbox and allows you to adjust the braking force and change the braking direction. It includes a gear pinion M4, which has 16 teeth.
The brake is designed for sliding gates with a maximum load of 7 Nm. This load can be doubled by using two brakes.
Hydraulic brake description
The BSF-M radial brake with gear pinion is designed for continuous control of the movement speed of sliding gates on a slope.. For gates installed on a slope, the brake regulates and controls the closing speed throughout the gate’s travel and ensures safety when the drive is disengaged (during a power outage). The brake reduces the load on the gate drive, extending its service life.
Technical specifications
Brake pinion: MODULE M4 (16 teeth)
Maximum load: 7 Nm
Brake fluid: SILICONE 3000
Operating temperature: -15 to 70 degrees Celsius
Braking direction: RIGHT / LEFT
Braking force adjustment: YES
Installation
The hydraulic brake is installed near the gate drive. The gear pinion must mesh with the gate drive rack, with a clearance of approx. 1–2 mm. The brake is secured to threaded rods anchored in the concrete foundation. (The brake can be secured to a custom-made mounting bracket. The mounting bracket is anchored in the concrete foundation.)
Changing the braking direction
The brake is designed to brake in either direction, but it only engages in one direction.
1. Remove the retaining ring from the shaft and remove the pinion.
2. Turn the pinion 180° and slide it back onto the shaft.
3. Secure the pinion with the retaining ring.
Adjusting the braking force
Turn clockwise to increase the braking force.
Instructions for calculating the brake’s maximum load
If one brake is not sufficient, two brakes can be joined to form a single unit. Joining two brakes creates a braking system with a maximum load of 14 Nm.
