Description of Post base with fixed top plate
|
Static welded two-piece pillar anchor base with adjustable height is suitable for anchoring wooden posts or pillars under compressive load to a base using steel anchors or 10 mm diameter screws.
Fasteners used to attach the pillar include convex-head nails with a 4 mm diameter, or 10 mm diameter screws. Available threaded rod diameters are M16, M20, M24 and M27.
The pillar base is electro-galvanized. |

Example of using a pillar base with a fixed top plate
Ideal for installations on surfaces where the anchor points are at different heights. Use of the pillar anchor base is particularly advantageous where, for aesthetic reasons, the use of U-shaped bases, or L-shaped anchor bases. An alternative could be a recessed T-shaped anchor base.
Load capacity of a pillar base with a fixed top plate
The base's load capacity is determined by the load capacity of its individual plates. The threaded rod has a substantially higher load capacity than the plates and therefore does not affect the base's load capacity.
Recommended fasteners are convex-head nails 4x60mm, or structural screws into the post. Use segment anchors in the base material.
The anchor base is designed for anchoring loaded posts and pillars to a horizontal supporting structure, with the wooden element held off the surface.
