Switching the ON3EBD controller to DC mode (and back)
All 3 buttons on the remote control are set to bidirectional “BD” mode by default. To pair it with older, unidirectional receivers that do not support “BD” coding, you need to switch one of the buttons on the ON3EBD remote control to unidirectional mode. This means that this button will be in unidirectional mode, while the other buttons remain in bidirectional mode.
To switch the entire remote control to unidirectional mode, you must follow these steps for each button on the remote.
Proceed as follows:
- Press the “i” button on the ON3EBD remote control three times.
- Press and hold the button you want to switch until the LED lights up red.
- Done.
You can then pair that button with older, unidirectional receiver models in the same way as any other standard unidirectional remote control. If needed, you can switch the button back using the same procedure; the only difference is that in step 2, the LED will light up green.
For completeness, switching between modes does not affect the remote’s pairing. This means you can, in theory, use the same button to control a bidirectional receiver, switch the button to unidirectional mode to control a unidirectional receiver, then switch it back and control a bidirectional receiver again.
