U-shaped profiles are used for mounting slats, as side guide tracks for gates, or as bottom guide tracks for suspended gates.
L-profiles are most commonly used as a guide rail for gate side guide rollers.
Perforated L-shaped profiles are suitable as brackets for the guide rail of a garage door, but their versatility means they can be used to mount virtually anything.
