Off-axis hinges
Swing gate can also be installed in areas with sloping terrain, which obstructs the movement of the gate leaf. By using offset hinges you can ensure that the gate lifts slightly as it opens, so that it follows the rising ground. When closed, the gate is level and looks just like a standard swing gate. The angle corresponding to the slope of the ground is only formed when the gate is open.

The gate offset from the lower hinge required for the gate to “rise” can be estimated as follows:
Offset = gate height / gate width x slope.
Offset hinges are adjustable for different slope angles and different gate and post designs. They are largely universal.
Automation for a rising gate
The operator for this type of gate should be slightly oversized, as it must lift part of the gate's weight, which it would move linearly with a standard gate. Ideally, use a 230 V operator with greater force (lower sensitivity).
